Abstract

The authors propose to present the clinical case of a 64-year-old male patient with weight loss, asthenia, anorexia and persistent epigastric pain with 6 months duration. Upon hospital admission, the patient presented a microcytic anemia with Hb 6.7 g / dL, in need of transfusion support and in an imaging study, the presence of a stenosing lesion at the gastric level was verified, conditioning a marked distension. He was admitted to the medical service for transfusion and nutritional support and for endoscopic study. He underwent palliative surgery on the 28th day of hospitalization. So, the authors present an appealing and rare image in terms of the size of gastric distension resulting from a stenosing lesion at the level of the gastric antrum in a patient with advanced gastric carcinoma. Gastric carcinoma may present asymptomatically in the initial stages or with symptoms such as anorexia, dysphagia, epigastric pain, weight loss or vomiting in more advanced stages.
